Why is pop and hip-hop more popular than rock nowadays?
At school, I am one out of not so many who like rock music like T-Rex, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’ Roses, ect. But everybody else likes pop stuff like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Justin Bieber or they like Hip-Hop/Rap stuff…can’t really think of anything but you get the point. Is it because modern rock music sucks or is it just because everyone’s tired of rock music? Personally, I think it’s because rock music has been popular ever since the 60s to the 90s and slowly faded. If you ask any random person what kind of music they like, chances are they might say that they like pop or hip-hop. So just tell me your opinion 
Your taste is so much better dude! I really dont like much of the modern rock but the rhcp are good. My favorite band is the beatles and i like 60s and 70s rock best. Im in school like you and its like that too. Some people im my school like rock and others like that crap. To me that crap is not real music. It sickens me how people into that stuff sometimes dont even know who the beatles are. rock is way better cause it has had a way longer shelf life since the 60s and rap since 80s. Rock has always been better and will be. In a couple of years nobody will even remember justin beiber or and of that crap but none of the classic rock stars have been forgotten. Im just saying that type of music is just a retarded fad that fade out in a couple of years.
